Driver CPC is for LGV and PCV drivers who drive in the UK. It has evolved from the EU Directive 2003/59, which is in place to improve the knowledge and skills of professional drivers.
The legislation is split into two parts:
New LGV and PCV drivers must obtain the initial qualification alongside their vocational licence which enables them to use their licence professionally.
Existing LGV and PCV drivers must undertake periodic training, which involves undertaking 35 hours of training every 5 years.
Driver CPC came into force on 10th September 2008 for PCV drivers and the 10th September 2009 for LGV drivers. Cambrian Training Services was set up to deliver driver CPC training across the UK at centres accessible to everyone. We have been in the transport business for a number of years and have a dedicated training team in place to deliver an expert flexible course designed to fulfil all your requirements under CPC legislation.
