WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU, THE DRIVER
- Heavy Goods Driver CPC Periodic Training Requirements became law on September 10th, 2009.
- All professional LGV/PCV drivers will be required to undertake a minimum 35 hours of approved training over a period of 5 years.
- Training needs to be renewed every 5 years.
- Training can be carried out in 7-hour sessions or whole 35 hours in one week.
- Training Day counts towards your working time.
- Should training have not been carried out by September 2013 (PCV) or September 2014 (LGV), drivers will not be able to use their licence.
- Obtaining drivers CPC early could improve your employment opportunities.
